Local Artist Supports EFT

The EFT would like to congratulate local artist Jean Curley, known by many in Tyngsboro as Jean Barrett, on her art show The Splendor of Nature. Her watercolors will be shown at The Loading Dock Gallery at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell from Feb. 2nd - Feb. 27th. An opening reception is planned for Friday, Feb.4th from 6-9pm. Jean is donating a portion of her show proceeds to the Education Foundation for Tyngsborough.Thank you Jean!

Back by Popular Demand: Holiday Gift Program -  EFT is again offering parents a special way to show appreciation for their child’s teacher, principal, counselor or other staff member this holiday season. Families can make donations in the name of a special teacher or staff member.  Honored individuals will receive a special appreciation certificate thanking them for their gift of teaching and indicating the name of your son, daughter or family.  Each time a teacher or staff member is recognized, he or she will also be entered into a raffle to win a gift certificate. Announcing our 2010 Grant Awards  Please visit our Grants page to read about the 13 exciting grants we are able to fund this year. Many teachers took the time to identify items that they feel will enhance, encourage or improve the learning process. The grants awarded will bring educational benefits to students in each school and a majority of the 2,000+ students across the Tyngsborough Public School District. Your generous donations helped make this possible and we sincerely thank you.

Karats for Education: Thank you to all who came out February 27th, at the Tyngsborough Sportsman's Club. Food and drink, a warm fire and a few extra bucks in our pockets rounded out the evening. We had a lot of fun meeting new people and hope they too enjoyed themselves.

2nd Annual Dinner Theater was a great success! Our talented high schoolers entertained and amazed our community once again with three fun dinner/breakfast shows. Funds raised are being shared 50/50 with Friends of Tyngsborough Theater. The Foundation will put the funds toward educational grants, and FOTT will be purchasing microphones for our student actors. Thanks to all who came and supported two great causes!

Holiday Wish Program...Thank you to all the families who, together, recognized 53 individual teachers and donated a total of $1,025 to the Education Foundation. All staff recognized in this program were entered into a raffle and three names were drawn at the January 7th School Committee meeting. The winners are:

Mrs. Webster from TES; Mr. Chaple from TMS; and Mr. Conlon from THS

Each will receive a $50 git certificate to the school supply store of their choice. The Education Foundation is pleased that so many teachers were recognized and that we could defray the cost of supplies for a few of them.

2nd Annual Tyngsborough Trot. . .A big Thank You to everyone who participated, sponsored, or volunteered at the Tyngsborough Trot on October 4th.  We had a great day and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves.  It was wonderful to see so many people come out and support the Foundation and our Schools.  Race Results and Photos can be viewed and/or purchased by clicking here.

Membership Drive... We invite you to join our Annual Membership Drive, an opportunity for all community members, to make a genuine impact by contributing your time and/or dollars to serve our students. Any donation is appreciated and fully tax deductible. We will gladly welcome volunteers for our upcoming events. Grant Recipient Awards Ceremony... The Education Foundation for Tyngsborough's First Annual Grant Awards Ceremony was on June 2, 2009 in the Tyngsborough Town Hall.
